Modern equipment for fruit packaging brought to Transnistria

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- Fruit producers in the Transnistrian region will have access to the first modern fruit packaging equipment, flow-pack, purchased and installed in a company in Tiraspol, with the support of the Project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) High Value Agriculture in Moldova.

Flow-pack involves packing the pots with carefully sorted and weighed products with plastic wrap. This equipment is especially needed for the packaging of fruit intended for retail sale in stores, requested by consumers, especially after the introduction of pandemic restrictions, when hygiene requirements in commercial networks have become more demanding.

According to experts, flow-pack packaging offers benefits such as ensuring hygiene during the handling of packaged fruits, extending the shelf life for certain products, reducing weight loss due to dehydration.

Flow-pack is the first equipment of this kind in the Transnistrian region, which involved an investment from USAID / APM of about 1.5 million lei.
