Causeni treatment plant to be rebuilt by late 2021

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/- Reconstruction and modernization of wastewater treatment plant in Causeni is in the last stage and will be completed by late 2021. It is part of an investment project, implemented by the South Regional Development Agency (ADR) from the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development.

As a result of the investments, the treatment plant in the locality will be automated and will treat wastewater from 60% of the city's inhabitants, as well as from the villages of Cârnățeni, Zaim and Ursoaia. "Due to the methodology used, the station will not produce odor, noise, will not pollute the environment. Following the modernization, the treatment plant will provide services for servicing eight other treatment plants within the Causeni district ”, according to ADR Sud.

The authorities noted that the reconstruction of this treatment plant, as well as the rehabilitation of the city's sewerage system will help reduce discharges of insufficiently treated wastewater and protect the environment, will perform the operational service on the operation of drinking water treatment and distribution to the population.

The value of the rehabilitation works amounts to about 47 million lei, the contribution of the district council is about 19 million lei.

The reconstruction of the treatment plant is part of the investment project Construction of the sewerage system in Valul lui Traian sector and modernization of the wastewater treatment plant in Causeni and represents the second stage of implementation.
