At the mourning rally, acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi reviewed the merits of the departed artist and thanked him for his works. For his part, composer Eugen Doga said that Iurie Sadovnic had given birth to more songs, which would remain forever in the history of the contemporary light music of Moldova.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, singer Zinaida Julea said the departed artist had been a creator of beauty. ‘’Much time will have to pass for me to accustom myself to the thought that Iurie Sadovnic has remained only in memory,’’ Julea stressed.

Iurie Sadovnic was born in the Jura village, eastern Rabnita district, on 14 December 1951. He was soloist of more vocal and instrumental ensembles, Haiducii din Susleni” (Outlaws from Susleni) , „Haiducii” (The Outlaws) from the Arts Institute (1968-1973), „Sonor” (1973-1976), „Contemporanul” (1977-1981) and „Bucuria” (1980-1983); all these represented natural stages in the creation of the Legenda (The Legend) band (1983-1996), which brought among the great artists.

During his artistic career, Sadovnic performed on diverse stages from Moldova and in the world, as well as on improvised stages from hundreds of villages of the country. He was always by the side of people, in the pace of time and of the events which marked the Moldovan society in the last 30 years. Sadovnic was an active presence at the Dialogue literary club from the Writers’ Union, and in his songs, there was the vibration of the times and the hardships faced by the country.

He lived in poetry as well, inspiring from the great poets of the nation. Sadovnic’s own poetry volume, „Am să plec în codrul verde” (I will go to the green forest)  was born of this inspiration. And the last volume, Evadare (Escape) meanwhile became the testament of the departed art man.
