New vaccination marathon to be organized in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall on 20 June will organize a new vaccination marathon; this time, the second dose of vaccine will be administered to the people who were vaccinated at the Palace of the Republic on 28-30 May.  

At a today’s online meeting of the municipal services, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, said that, on 20 June, when the day of the medical employee and the pharmacist is market, a vaccination marathon would be held, during which the second dose of vaccine will be administered.  
 
„Specialists warn that the behavior of the virus depends on the coverage with vaccines. Presently, we have a great opportunity, when given that a pretty low incidence of Covid-19 is recorded, we must vaccinate as many people as possible, in order to have the coverage with vaccines of at least 70 order cent of the population, which will ensure us the epidemiological security,’’ the mayor said.        

The Chisinau city has developed the infrastructure needed for vaccination pretty well, including the first municipal vaccination centre, the vaccination centres and points in all medical institutions, as well as the innovative project with the mobile vaccination points (one trolley bus and one bus),’’ the mayor noted.  

Seventy vaccination points, one vaccination centre and two mobile vaccination points are organized in the city. Also, mobile vaccination teams work at the Family Physicians’ Centres, who move to homes of disabled people, as well as to enterprises and institutions for vaccination at the working place.   

As many as 3,055 people were immunized at the first vaccination marathon, organized by the Chisinau city hall on 28-30 May.
