Moldovan president conveys congratulations on anniversary of foundation of National Army's Guard of Honour

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today conveyed a congratulatory message to the soldiers and officers of the National Army’s Guard of Honour, on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of its foundation, the presidential press service has reported.

„This unit meets high guests of our country and provides solemnity and status to the important ceremonies for Moldova. The soldiers and officers of the Guard of Honour were witnesses and element of turning legitimate the great events in the state’s history. They represented with pride the country at missions from abroad, at parades and official ceremonies of our international partners,’’ reads the message of President Maia Sandu.

On this occasion, the head of state signed three Hononary Diplomas of Moldova’s President, which were today morning awarded to captain Victor Șipilov, first-class soldier Vasile Neagu and second-class soldier Alexandru Voloc, who serve Moldova within the Guard of Honour.

„I congratulate the members of this special unit and all former soldiers who were members of this elite unit. The military service within the Guard of Honour is a special privilege and imposes the wearing of the uniform with pride and respect – with the straight backbone and the head up,’’ Maia Sandu added.
