Moldovan president meets Ambassador of State of Israel

Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Ambassador of the State of Israel to Moldova Eliav Belotsercovsky and the head of the Jewish Community from Moldova, Alexandr Bilinkis, the presidential press service has reported.  

„We discussed key subjects on the bilateral agenda, among which the resumption of negotiations on more agreements, some of which refer to the situation of Moldova’s fellow countrymen who work in Israel. We also agreed on better turning to account the potential of commercial and economic cooperation between our countries, especially in agriculture, education, medicine, tourism and IT sector. These are sectors in which there is already a good cooperation between economic agents from the two countries,’’ President Maia Sandu said.   

Another subject discussed was the cooperation in the culture sector and preservation of the historical memory. In this respect, the head of state said that both the completion of the project on the foundation of the Museum of History of Jews and the renovation of the Jewish Cemetery from Chisinau were on the agenda of the Moldovan authorities.
