Moldovan National Army's sappers destroy 30 ammunitions found in southern region

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - Sappers of the Dacia motorized infantry brigade have been recently asked to intervene in two settlements of the southern Cimislia district, where over 30 explosive objects were detected.   

According to the senior officer of the engineering service, Ivan Cornegruţa, on 14-15 July, a team of sappers led by major lieutenant Aliona Bezman intervened in the villages Ivanovca Nouă and Lipoveni from the Cimislia district, where 24 hand grenades RGD, five bomb thrower of 82 mm, three artillery projectiles of various celibre, dating back from the World War II, were found following agricultural forestry works.  

The ammunitions were destroyed in conditions of maximal security at the unit’s training centre.

Since early 2021, National Army sappers have liquidated about 185 explosive objects of various types in settlements from the districts of Cimislia, Causeni, Anenii Noi, Hancesti, Cahul, Taraclia, Stefan Voda, Ungheni and Ialoveni.
