Virtual tours to orchards to be worked out on left bank of Dniester

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - Four companies from the left bank of Dniester, members of the Dnestrovski Fruct Association, have started a process of working out of virtual tours – an instrument which proved to be efficient for the promotion of fruits in conditions of pandemic. The activity is organized within the Platform of development of capacities of export of fruits producers from both banks of Dniester. The platform was created by the Moldova Fruct and Dnestrovski Fruct Associations, with the assistance of Sweden and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) within the project, Development of export capacities on Dniester banks (AdTrade).    

According to a fruit producer from the left bank of Dniester and beneficiary of the project Iurie Diuta, the promotion is a quite important chain in the activity he has been carried out during ten years; the elaboration of the virtual tour will allow him present his orchard and the post-harvest infrastructure to virtual clients worldwide. ‘’The pandemic drastically limited the possibilities to travel and be present at exhibitions and other international events. We hope that, through these tours, we will give buyers chance to visit us virtually and make sure that the fruits production sector of Moldova is in continuous development,’’ Iurie Diuta said.   

Creating of marketing opportunities for its members is one of the basic tasks of the Moldova Fruct Association. For 2021, the Association worked out 11 virtual tours for fruits producers, which were successfully used at business missions and virtually guided tours.

„Buyers are given impression that they can ‘’enter’’ the orchards, vineyards, and the post-harvest facilities of producers and exporters from Moldova. We have managed to discuss with a string of buyers by this way. Within the platform, we want to share this experience with the producers of fruits from the left bank of Dniester,’’ the executive director of the Moldova Fruct Association, Alexandru Fala, said.  

The tours are to be finished in next October, after the season of apples’ harvesting is over.
