41 billion lei accumulated in national public budget in early 2021

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- In January -July 2021, revenues of 41.0 billion lei / over 1 billion 900 million euros / were accumulated in the national public budget (BPN), increasing by 6.9 billion compared to the similar period of last year, according to the Ministry of Finance.

"Expenditures amounted to 44.6 billion lei, which compared to the same period of 2020 are higher by 6.2 billion lei. The execution of the national public budget ended with a deficit in the amount of 3.6 billion lei, and the balances of funds in the accounts of the component budgets of the national public budget constituted 9.3 billion lei ”, indicates the Ministry of Finance.

At the same time, the revenues of the state budget, in the reference period, constituted 25.2 billion lei, registering an increase of 4.7 billion lei compared to the similar period of last year.

Revenues administered by the State Fiscal Service amounted to 11 billion lei, 1.6 billion more than the respective period of 2020, and revenues administered by the Customs Service amounted to 14.9 billion lei, increasing by three billion compared to the same period last year.

The state budget expenditures were executed in the amount of 30.3 billion lei, higher by 4.3 billion lei compared to the same period last year. The execution of the state budget ended with a deficit in the amount of 5.1 billion lei, and the balances of funds in the accounts of the state budget amounted to 5.5 billion lei.

The Ministry of Finance ensured the fulfillment of all payment commitments for January - July of this year, all payments being fully funded.

"According to the Law on Public Finance and Budgetary-Fiscal Responsibility, the priority is to honor the obligations to serve the external and internal state debt, as well as the payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits. We also reiterate that there are no risks of non-execution / cessation of expenditures approved in the budget, given that the budget has sufficient financial resources and constantly ensures prudent liquidity management. The efficient management of public finances represents the maximum priority for the Ministry of Finance, thus contributing to the primary objective of overcoming the pandemic crisis and respectively of relaunching the national economy ”, concluded the quoted source.
