COVID-19: Red code of alert announced in southern Basarabeasca district, Balti city of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - The red code of alert in the health sector has been established in the southern Basarabeasca town, caused by the epidemiological evolution of the new-type coronavirus. Starting from 20 August, a string of restrictive measures were introduced in the settlement.    

“We will observe all provisions of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) in case of red cod of alert. Thus, we cancelled all public activities, we announced more restrictive measures needed in the quarantine state,’’ sources of the local administration said.  

Thus, in the Basarabeasca town, people are obliged to wear masks, observe the social distance, use disinfectants, the observance of the sanitary and hygienic protection norms is compulsory in markets and food stores; the pubs and restaurants will work only by delivering orders home; the kindergartens switch to the online work; the religious services will be officiated only in open air.   

A decision on the schools’ activity will be taken till the beginning of the school year.

The Municipal Public Health Commission from the Balti city introduced a string of new restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The red code of alert in the health sector is established in Balti, because of the increase in the incidence rate. This code will impose tougher anti-Covid measures and a strict control over the observance of the requirements. Preliminarily, the Commission members suggested that the working schedule of shops be shortened till 22:00 and of the night clubs and restaurants – till 23:00; the wearing of masks in open spaces and the observance of the social distance remain compulsory. The holding of cultural events is allowed with a limited number of people, 50 persons at the most.
