Chisinau-based education institutions prepared for beinning of school year

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ - Those 331 municipal education institutions from Chisinau are ready for starting the new school year.  

At an online meeting of the city hall’s services, the acting head of the education, youth and sport department, Andrei Pavaloi, said that all municipal education institutions were prepared for the starting of the school year with the physical presence of pupils and teachers in classrooms. ‘’The process of assessment of those 331 municipal institutions is underway; the data received till present shows that all these institutions have capacity to start the education process with the physical presence of pupils and teachers in classrooms,’’ Pavaloi noted.   

At the same time, the official also said that the repair works had been almost completed at 56 out of 88 kindergartens, where repair works were carried out; the works are close to the end in 25 ones and the repair is at the beginning in seven kindergartens. ‘’We received assurances on behalf of entrepreneurs that, as of 1 September 2021, all far-reaching repair works would be finished; with the minor ones being possible with children’s presence in institutions,’’ Pavaloi said.  

On the other hand, according to information unveiled at the online meeting, about 70 per cent of the teachers working in the municipal education institutions are vaccinated. A number of 967 people were immunized at the vaccination marathon held on 20-22 August.
