Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - The boosting of the relations between Moldova and Poland represents a good sign; they have at their basis historical, friendship significances and reciprocity. President Maia Sandu made statements to this effect during joint declarations with her counterpart from Poland Andrzej Duda, who came to Chisinau on an official visit.

„At the last year presidential elections, as well as at the parliamentary ones from last July, the people chose the way of European democratic modernization. The new Chisinau governance is set to fulfill this desideratum, for a better and prosperous future,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state thanked Poland for support and efforts made to consolidate Moldova on the European integration way. ‘’We thank you for the multidimensional support and you should know that you have a friend in Chisinau,’’ Maia Sandu said.

For his part, Andrzej Duda expressed happiness to be present in Chisinau, when Moldova celebrates such an important event as the Independence Day. ’’The change is possible in Moldova, just as it was possible in Poland. The situation is only more difficult in Moldova and there is more work to do. Changes are needed for Moldova to become a strong and democratic state,’’ the Polish president stressed.

According to Andrzej Duda, Warsaw will support and help Moldova wherever will be necessary.

President of Poland Andrzej Duda today came to Chisinau on an official visit. On 27 August, Andrzej Duda will participate in the actions dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence, along with President of Romania Klaus Werner Iohannis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
