Moldovan parliament speaker lays flowers on Alley of Classics on occasion of Our Language National Holiday

Chisinau, 31 August /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, accompanied by other MPs, today laid flowers at busts of more poets and writers on the Alley of Classics from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden, on the occasion of the Our Language National Holiday, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

Igor Grosu addressed a message to the citizens, on the occasion of the holiday, which, inter alia, reads:

”Today, on 31 August, we celebrate the day of the Romanian language –a language which defines us, asserts out identify, as well as unites us. I want to offer sincere thanks to those who speak and preserve the Romanian language. I am happy to hear our citizens who left abroad when they speak in Romanian to their children, read them tales or poems or listen to songs in Romanian. I would like us to be proud to speak Romanian at the 30th anniversary of the Independence. We will be able to respect and promote our national values on in this way.’’
