Moldovan PM meets Romanian delegation with European People Party's Group in European Parliament

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today met the Romanian delegation of the Group of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The delegation led by an MP of the European Parliament, EPP Group, Ioan-Rares Bogdan, the National Liberal Party (PNL). The official delegation was also made up of Siegfried Mureșan, Gheorghe Falcă, Eugen Tomac, lawmakers of the European Parliament, as well as the PNL deputy president, Robert Sichiartau   

The officials discussed the priorities of the Moldovan government’s European agenda, as well as the support of the European forums for the reforms underway.  At the same time, the sides tackled also the situation in the energy sector – a problems which hits not only Moldova, but also many European countries.  

„I am happy that the partners from Romania and EU support priorities of our government’s action programme and this is an opportune moment to do nice things for the citizens of both countries,’’ PM Gavrilita said.

The Romanian side emphasized the support for the reforms started by the Moldovan government. The delegation members stressed that it was necessary to fully turn to account all cooperation platforms between the two countries. The Romanian MEPs gave assurances that they would promote in Brussels a strong message of backing the pro-European agenda of the new Moldovan governance. At the same time, they stressed the importance that the European integration brings concrete and tangible benefits for Moldova’s citizens.
