Investment projects in northern Moldova examined at event in Balti

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- The North Regional Development Agency (ADR) organized a round table yesterday on portfolio of investment projects in the North Development Region. The event brought together central and local public authorities, development partners, members of the Northern Regional Development Council (CRD) and took place in the context of the seventh edition of the Northern Development Region Days, both physically and online.

During the event, which was an opportunity for communication and opportunities to establish and improve collaboration between participants, ADR Nord specialists presented successful projects implemented in the North Development Region from external funds, as well as the Portfolio of investment projects in the region.

"I think we should mention the considerable progress that has been made in the process of implementing regional development policy and recognize the efforts that have been made in this regard. Some of these efforts have been made possible by the support of development partners, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development is making considerable efforts to mobilize resources and attract additional funding to what we have in the National Fund for Regional Development, to cover a measure as high as possible the financing needs of the projects submitted to the recent project competition ”, estimated, during the event, Ana Mardare, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

Petru Veverița, manager of the project Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova said “The German Government has supported and continues to support the efforts of the Moldovan authorities in promoting regional development”. "Along the way, it was obtained the attraction of European funds, of the Governments of Sweden, Romania and Switzerland and these resources were used both for technical assistance and for the implementation of investment projects. We had a long and fruitful cooperation both with the branch ministry and with ADR Nord and the North Development Region "", he said.

"Attracting external resources for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the region can make an essential contribution to socio-economic development, to supporting the private sector, as well as to increasing the quality of life of the population. We developed the Portfolio of investment projects to promote among the development partners the projects from the North Development Region evaluated within the Competitive Call for selection of regional development projects for the period 2021-2023, with funding from the National Fund for Regional Development ", Maria Prisacari, ADR Nord director said.

The round table with the development partners of RDA Nord was organized within the project Support for the Regional Council for Northern Development, funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through the project Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, implemented by the Cooperation Agency International Union of Germany (GIZ) Moldova.
