Cimislia hosts Mioriţă Laie-Bucălaie fair-festival

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- Mioriţă Laie-Bucălaie is the title of an international festival that took place recently in Cimişlia. The event was organized by the National Federation of Sheep and Goat Breeders of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with Cimișlia city hall, and aimed to promote occupations.

The festival was attended by sheep and goat breeders not only from our country, but also from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Romania.

The agenda of the festival included an exhibition-fair of animals, especially sheep and goats, a fair of folk craftsmen from the southern region, other areas of the country, as well as an international conference on Good practices from us. 

Also, national sports competitions were organized, such as scaffolding, sheep, otgon shooting, slamming. The participants competed in the best crack in the whip, in throwing the straw bag, the strongest hiss, etc. During the festival, culinary competitions took place, with traditional dishes made of sheep and goat cheese, pastrami, pickles, polenta, stew, rolls, pies, sausages, etc.

For the organization and development of the festival, which this year marked the fifth edition, the City Hall of Cimișlia allocated about 170 thousand lei.
