Moldovan PM says government proves professionalism in first 100 days

Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita says she is contented with the work of the cabinet she leads in the first 100 days of governance, as it has proved professionalism and dedication on a difficult period. The PM made statements to this effect while unveiling the government’s activity report for the first 100 days of mandate.   

The prime minister said she cannot give marks to the ministers, as they should make an exercise of self-assessment; yet, at the present stage, Gavrilita said she had no pretentions to the competence and involvement of the cabinet members. ‘’On a quite complicated period, characterized by pandemic crisis, economic, social challenges, prices’ increases, with weak institutions, despite more circumstances,  we have managed to find our way out,’’ the prime minister noted.  

Also, Natalia Gavrilita said that, after the leaving of the deputy prime minister, Vladislav Kulminski, for the time being, there were no plans of staff reshufflings in the government or the current ministers will continue working.   

„We move ahead; we have a lot of work to do; we have obligations towards the citizens; therefore, we will consolidate the governmental team and will continue working,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.    

The Gavrilita cabinet members were sworn in office on 6 August 2021. This government is made up 13 ministries and four deputy prime ministers. Natalia Gavrilita is the 15th prime minister of Moldova since the declaration of the country’s independence. Vasile Tarlev had the longest mandate in the office of prime minister - seven years. In the last years, Moldova had six PMs: Vlad Filat (2009-2013), Iurie Leanca (2013-2015), Chiril Gaburici (2015), Valeriu Strelet (2015), Pavel Filip (2016-2019), Maia Sandu (2019) and Ion Chicu (2019-2020).
