Bălți Court ruled on excluding Marina Tauber from electoral race for Bălți city hall

Chisinau, 4 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Marina Tauber, candidate of Shor Party for the position of mayor of Bălţi municipality was excluded from the electoral race. The decision was made today by Balti Court.
The panel examined the matter for two days, starting Friday, December 3rd. Yesterday, Tauber case was sent to the Bălţi Court of Appeal, but later it was returned to the Bălţi Court. The court hearing took place until almost 4.00 in the morning, being postponed to 8.00 on Saturday, December 4.
On December 1, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) voted, with six votes in favor and two abstentions, a decision calling on the Balti District Court to cancel the registration of Marina Tauber as an electoral contestant for the position of mayor of Balti.
The central electoral authority convened in an extraordinary meeting and called many people for public hearings, which confirmed that the Shor Party representatives had made payments for the food of a minimum number of 20 supporters / electoral agents of the electoral contestant Marina Tauber. Following the hearings, it was found that the minimum amount of expenses that was not declared to the central authority by the candidate of the Shor Party was 34,260 thousand lei.
Shor Party candidate Marina Tauber and independent candidate Nicolai Grigorișin came out in the second round of voting for the seat of the head of the administration of Bălți municipality, which will take place on Sunday, December 5th.
