Over 1,700 pupils study online in Chisinau

Chisinau, Dec. 20 / MOLDPRES /- In Chisinau, 20 educational institutions operate in a mixed system and more than 1,700 pupils study online.

The interim head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports, Andrei Pavaloi, announced at today's online meeting of the City Hall services that in the municipal educational institutions, as a result of the infection with COVID-19, a number of 23 teachers and auxiliary staff and 105 pupils are in self-isolation.

At the same time, 20 municipal institutions continue to operate in a mixed regime and 1,700 pupils continue to study online. The measure is due to the large number of students in the class, which makes it impossible to be physically present in the classroom without violating anti-coronavirus prevention measures.

At the same time, Pavaloi informed that all the early education institutions in Chisinau received the gifts for the children and they will be distributed to the children until December 24th.

The official added that on 25 December -9 January pupils will be on vacation and will return to school on 10 January.
