Compensations for heating to be increased in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - More than 192,000 families will benefit from increased compensations for the invoices of thermal energy. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end today.

Thus, the compensations provided to citizens for the invoice of thermal energy will increase from 67 to 80 per cent, starting from January. So, the value of the compensations will grow from 450 lei to 815 lei monthly. The volume of thermal energy for which the compensation of the tariff difference is made will be increased too – from 1 Gcal to 1.5 Gcal.

At the same time, the access of needy families to social assistance for the cold period of the year will be simplified. Therefore, on the period 1 January – 31 March 2022, the necessity of social inquiry will be ruled out and only the household’s income will be verified.

A new regulation regards the compensation of the difference of price/tariff for the providers of natural gas/thermal energy, which got the concerned licence for the supply of natural gas, for the period 1 November 2021 – 31 March 2022.

The expenses needed for the enforcement of the draft’s provisions are estimated at about 70 million lei for three months of this year, if the tariff remains unchanged and about 300 million lei, if the tariff grows.
