Holocaust Remembrance Week held in Moldova

Chisinau, January 24 / MOLDPRES /- Holocaust Remembrance Week is taking place in the Republic of Moldova on January 24-30.
Thus, during the week a lot of events will be organized, which due to the aggravation of the epidemiological situation, will take place in online format: broadcasting of thematic films, round tables, exhibitions, etc., dedicated to honoring the memory of those who were destroyed by one of the greatest atrocities in the history of the twentieth century.
Remembrance Week began today with the inauguration of the Rabbis of Europe during the Holocaust photo exhibition inside the House of Nationalities. The exhibited materials reflect the stories of 12 religious and spiritual leaders of the Jewish communities in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and other countries, who are still an example of courage, morality, high universal spiritual values. Materials from the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex in Israel, the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington (USA), the Imperial War Museum in Great Britain, the Sousa Mendes Foundation in the USA, etc. were used to create the exhibition. The exhibition is organized by the Orthodox Jewish Religious Cult of the Republic of Moldova AGUDAT ISRAEL in Moldova, with the support of the Agency for Interethnic Relations and the Jewish Community of the Republic of Moldova.
On January 27, the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, the inauguration of the Holocaust Memorial will take place at the Jewish Cemetery in Bender, and the Requiem Rally to commemorate Holocaust victims will be held in Chisinau, with flower arrangements at the Victims of Fascism Monument.
The organizers of the events are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Agency for Interethnic Relations, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Jewish Community and the Roma Community of the Republic of Moldova.
