Coordinators of sectoral working groups on behalf of Chisinau hold meeting

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - A consultative meeting with the participation of the heads of the sectoral working groups on behalf of Chisinau was held today, at an initiative by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian.    

According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, the participants in the meeting tackled the priority directions of work for 2022, exchanged information and opinions on the primordial subjects due to be on the agenda of the working groups’ meetings, challenges and difficulties faced in the process, suggestions of overcoming them. They also stressed the need to maintain active approaches and aimed at identifying technical solutions to the pressing problems faced by the residents from the two banks of Dniester.     

Among the up-to-date subjects and which need increased attention, the participants pointed out the promotion of the observance of human rights, removing the impediments to the free movement, farmers’ continuous access to the farmlands from the Dubasari district, improvement of the education conditions and ensuring the right to education in the mother language, implementation of the measures to combat COVID-19, etc.  

Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian asked the competent coordinators to assess the activity of the working groups in the concerned fields, to compile action plans meant to boost their activity, to come up with proposals of improving the normative framework and to establish the period convenient for the re-launch of the meetings jointly with experts on behalf of Tiraspol.  

The working groups set up in Chisinau and Tiraspol represent technical platforms and of interaction between sectoral experts, coordinated by political representatives and which are meant to identify and propose viable solutions to topical problems, contributing, concomitantly, to the promotion of the confidence building measures and support of the settlement process.
