Moldovan National Food Safety Agency inspectors withdraw more batches of non-conforming products from sale

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - Inspectors of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) have carried out controls planned for checking the compliance of food products placed on market in retail trade networks from the Chisinau city and more batches of products were withdrawn from commerce.
Following controls, inspectors detected more non-conformities, such as: lack of authorizations for the wrapping of food products; through carrying out control purchasing, inspectors found out the use of deceptive commercial practices (at the buying of promotional products, they detected the price difference shelf/voucher); carrying out products’ wrapping (biscuits, zephyr, khalva, sliced salami and sausages) with the use of incorrect practices, etc.
According to ANSA, inspectors found out 34 consignments of food products with expired validity term, of which nine batches of fancy cakes with changed fabrication date; 16 batches of food products with the lack of information in the state language; 29 consignments of food products improperly marked, etc.
As a result, official reports of control were compiled.
The batches of non-conforming products were banned and withdrawn from commercialization. Representatives of the operators in the good sector will inform the Agency about the actions and measures undertaken as to the destruction, recycling or conditioned use of these products, with the presentation of acts confirming the actions.
