Moldovan central electoral authority plans to work out concept of online voting in 2022

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), at a today’s meeting, approved an action plan of the institution for 2022; one of the goals set this year is the working out of the concept of the online voting.    

Under the action plan, CEC is set to fulfill more objectives, among which: development of digitalized, secured and innovative services; enhancing the electoral inclusion; enhancement of the integrity and reliability of the electoral process through prevention, monitoring and control; shortening of the distance between the voter and the electoral bodies through enhancing the transparency of the electoral information.  

At the same time, the Central Electoral Commission this year has planned a string of actions for improving the quality of the electoral services through efficient cooperation between the state's institutions, as well as for strengthening the Commission as reliable authority, oriented towards the citizen, promotion of the institution’s image internationally as modern and progressive electoral authority.  

Also, in 2022, CEC is set to elaborate the concept of tender book as to the voting by Internet. The activity will be carried out within the inter-institutional working group set up to this end, with the attraction of local and international experts. After the documents are given final touches, they will be submitted to the government and parliament for the planning of the resources needed and adoption of the necessary normative framework.
