Chisinau, Feb. 22 / MOLDPRES /- Councilors Aliona Mandatii and Ala Tîșcul leave the DA Platform Party faction of CMC and remain independent councilors.

City Councilor Aliona Mandatii announced at the beginning of today's meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council that she is leaving, together with Ala Tîșcul, the PPDA faction of the Municipal Council and withdrawing her vote for the privatization of the UNIC store in the capital.

Mandatii noted that the decision to privatize the land is legally correct but less politically correct and bears this cost. "I withdraw today from the DA Platform faction. Respectively, I withdraw my vote for that decision for UNIC. I want to announce, also on behalf of my colleague Ala Tîșcul, the withdrawal from the DA Platform and the withdrawal of the vote for that decision. We remain independent city councilors, "Mandatii said.

At the same time, Mandatii said that in 2020, she warned about the existence of a decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeal by which the municipality was obliged to sell the land belonging to the UNIC store to its owners, but the Chisinau City Hall did not react.

Aliona Mandatii has been a member of the DA Platform Party since 2015 and has held, until now, the position of vice-president of the PPDA faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council.
