Pipe meant for illegal supply with drinking water, electric energy detected under Dniester river

Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - An illegal pipe, meant for the supply with drinking water and electric energy, has been detected by investigation officers of the East Regional Department of the zone of Tudora-1 Border Police Sector.

According to the Border Police, the pipe was placed under the river bed of Dniester, starting from Moldova to Ukraine. Four cables of high tension electric energy and a tube from textile material passed through pipe.

Following the joint investigation, employees of the East Regional Department of the General Inspectorate of Border Police (IGPF) and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine found out that the pipe had been set to illegally supply with electric energy and drinking water a leisure base from Ukraine, placed just on the bank of the river.

The assets found and the materials accumulated on this case are to be submitted to Moldova’s Customs Service, which will continue the researchers.
