Joint Control Commission holds weekly meeting in Bender

19:11 | 10.03.2022 Category: Official

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) today convened in Bender and resumed discussions started last week on the subject regarding the impact of the situation in the region on the functionality of the peacekeeping mechanisms at Dniester, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The sides failed to reach consensus for the formation of the agenda, for which reason the weekly meeting was postponed again.

At the same time, to identify solutions which would allow continuing the JCC’s work, consultations were held between the three co-heads of the Commission and representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission.

During the conversations, Moldova’s delegation undertook measures in order to exclude the politicizing of the work of the Joint Control Commission and not to allow the attraction of the military component of the peacekeeping mission in political disputes.

At a proposal by Russia’s Delegation, the sides agreed on holding additional consultations, with the Commission due to hold a meeting in seven days.
