Moldovan president has phone conversation with UN Secretary General

Chisinau, March 18 / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu discussed last night with Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres about the challenges facing our country in the context of security developments in the region, the presidential press service has reported.

Guterres expressed his solidarity and gratitude for the authorities' efforts to manage the high influx of refugees from Ukraine. The head of state thanked for the humanitarian aid provided by the UN for the refugees hosted by the Republic of Moldova. Likewise, President Sandu mentioned the need for additional assistance from the international community to support the economic and social system of our country in the current conditions.

Gueterres has assured that the United Nations will provide additional assistance to the Republic of Moldova to ease the pressure under which the state currently operates.
