Bilateral cooperation between armies of Moldova, China discussed in Chisinau

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii today had a meeting with China’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Yan Wenbin.

According to the Defence Ministry’s press service, the officials discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two states’ armies, initiatives on development of the National Army, as well as the participation in international peacekeeping missions.

In the context, the defence minister thanked the government of China for the support provided to the military institution from Moldova in terms of implementing programmes on reforming the army, training national military staff in China, as well as the technical and material supply of the defence institution. Minister Nosatii expressed gratitude to the Chinese people for the assistance provided to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, Yan Wenbin said the army of the People’s Republic of China also was under a process of reformation, noting willingness to exchange experience in this respect.

The Chinese diplomat reiterated the support of his country for the modernization and reformation of Moldova’s National Army.
