Day of mourning declared in Moldova to commemorate victims of war in Ukraine

Chisinau, April 4 / MOLDPRES /- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, signed a decree declaring April 4, 2022 a day of mourning throughout the country. Mourning is set to commemorate all the victims of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and as a sign of deep compassion and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, the presidential press service has reported.
According to the presidential decree, today, in all localities of the country, as well as in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, the State Flag will be lowered in the flag, and at 12.00 the memory of the victims of the Ukrainian war will be honored by keeping a moment of silence.
At the same time, it is recommended that public authorities, businesses and organizations today refrain from carrying out mass entertainment activities, and media institutions - to take into account the specifics of this day when editing publications and forming programs.
