Chisinau, April 4 / MOLDPRES /- MPs held a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine.
Speaker Igor Grosu mentioned in plenary that our country condemns the massacre in the town of Bucea near Kyiv. "Today, in the Republic of Moldova, a day of national mourning was declared in memory of all the innocent lives lost in the last 40 days in Ukraine. The images that appeared yesterday in the cities of Bucea, Irpin and Hostomel with hundreds of civilians killed and left on the streets are terrible. The Republic of Moldova strongly condemns the massacre of civilians, and those responsible must be held accountable. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Ukrainian people, "said Grosu.
Today, the head of state signed a decree declaring April 4 a day of mourning to commemorate all the victims of the war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and as a sign of deep compassion and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
According to the presidential decree, today in all localities of the country, as well as in the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, the State Flag will be lowered in the flag, and at 12.00 the memory of the victims of the Ukrainian war will be honored by keeping a moment of silence.
