Three institutions to carry out project on reformation of governance in state enterprises in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Public Property Agency (APP), in partnership with the Expert-Grup Independent Analytical Centre, have launched a project titled, Technical assistance for the reform of governance at state enterprises, carried out with the support of the Soros Moldova Foundation.
The project is set to digitalize the information about the management of the public property, strengthen the APP’s capacity, in order to enforce the principles of good governance at the state enterprises.
The programme is also set to improve the APP’s communication with the public on the concerned sector and the reforms related, as well as to improve the legal and institutional framework, in order to consolidate the corporate governance, in the line with recommendations by the International Monetary Fund.
„We need a systemic approach, and it is badly necessary that we implement processes due to develop a corporate culture, which will transform completely the way the state enterprises look at present. I mean, in this context, the decision-making transparency, anticorruption element, etc.,’’ the director of the Public Property Agency, Eugeniu Cozonac said.
The main activities due to be carried out within the project represent the digitalization of registers with information about the public property, updating and improvement of the APP’s webpage, elaboration of the state policy in the public property field. At the same time, decision-makers plan to establish official mandates for the state enterprises, improve the legislation on the work of state enterprises, in accordance with IMF’s recommendations, provide support to state enterprises as to the practical implementation of the good governance codes and internal control requirements, in line with the best practices of corporate governance.
The project is to be implemented by Export-Grup, in partnership with the Public Property Agency and with the support of the Soros Moldova Foundation. To carry out the programme, the partner institutions signed a memorandum of cooperation today.
