Chisinau, April 19 / MOLDPRES /- 22 political parties registered with the Public Service Agency will be sanctioned for failing to submit their financial reports for 2021.

The Central Electoral Commission / CEC / announced that, out of a total of 55 existing political parties, only 33 submitted financial reports for 2021. Thus, the CEC initiated procedures to sanction these political parties.

The electoral authority stated that nine political parties, although they submitted the reports on time, did not comply with the obligation to present the financial reports, in both ways provided by law, both on paper and electronically through SSI Financial Control. The CEC obliged these political parties to remove the non-compliance within 5 days and to submit the missing version of the report on financial management, ie on paper or electronically.

Eight political parties did not submit financial reports in any form. These are: the Social Democratic Party, the New Historical Option Party, the United Moldova Party - Edina Moldova, the Democratic Action Party, the Renaissance Party, the Progressive Society Party, Our Party and National Progress Party. These political entities were ordered to submit their financial reports within five days.

According to the CEC decision, it was ordered to initiate the contravention process regarding the persons in charge of political parties, who did not present the financial reports in any form or did not comply with the obligation to present them both on paper and electronically.
