Moldovan diplomacy head has phone conversation with Lithuanian counterpart

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis. The officials discussed the security context emerged following the war in Ukraine and the regional risks triggered by it, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

Deputy PM Nicu Popescu reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ firm commitment to implement the agenda of domestic reforms, consolidation of the state’s resilience, these being transformations necessary for advancing on the country’s European integration.

„I informed my Lithuanian counterpart that we are ready in the near future to submit the second part of the questionnaire for getting the status of candidate for accession to the European Union and we work for getting Moldova closer to EU,’’ the Moldovan diplomacy head said.
