Sweden to earmark 4 million euros to support Moldova in refugee crisis

Chisinau, May 18 / MOLDPRES /- The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to allocate four million euros to the Emergency Fund of the Republic of Moldova to support the refugee crisis.

Earlier, at the request of the Moldovan authorities, Sweden sent 10 48 m2 tents, an electricity generator, lighting and heating systems, and two Swedish emergency response experts assessed the situation.

Sweden has a long-term partnership with Moldova, with an estimated assistance of 15 million euros in 2022, for bilateral cooperation cooperation projects. This country supports civil society organizations and multilateral entities through about 40 projects under Sweden's Strategy for Cooperation on Reforms with Eastern Europe for 2021-2027, according to the Swedish Embassy in Chisinau.
