Briceni pupils informed about importance of water in German-supported project

Chisinau, May 30 / MOLDPRES /- The 8th grade pupils from the Theoretical High School from Trebisăuți village, Briceni district, ended their academic year with an extracurricular activity entitled Water - the miracle of life. The event was organized as part of the SMART Planning in Water Management project, implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR), through the Innovation Fund for Sustainable Development Goals in Moldova and supported by the German Government.

In March, six educational institutions in Briceni district, including the Trebisăuți Theoretical High School, received instant water filtration equipment and electric water heaters as part of the project. Also, a digital map of Briceni district was created last year in the water supply and sewerage sector.

"Through the students, the community was sensitized in the spirit of rational use of aquatic resources and reduction of water pollution. Our health depends largely on the quality of the water we consume. Together we can efficiently fulfill the objectives we set ourselves ", said Victoria Zabolotnîi, project manager at ADR Nord.

The project is implemented by ADR Nord through the SDG Innovation Fund Moldova under the project Support for the Government of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the 2030 Agenda, funded by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation.
