Joint meeting of parliaments of Moldova, Romania to be held in Chisinau

Chisinau, June 6 / MOLDPRES / - A joint meeting of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will take place in Chisinau. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement at a joint press conference with Romanian Speaker Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, who is on a visit to Chisinau.

Following a meeting, the Moldovan official appreciated the positive dynamics of the institutional relations between the two states. "Today we have decided that we will continue to work together in the priority areas in the process of European integration. We talked about the streamlining of cross-border traffic, about the economic, energy, infrastructure and health fields. We live in complicated times because there is a war in our neighborhood, which brings us economic challenges, that's why we rely on Romania's support, its political, economic and humanitarian support ", said Igor Grosu.

For his part, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu said that the only way for development for the Republic of Moldova is the European Union. "Romania is obliged to help you in the European course. We have experts who can provide all the necessary support in harmonizing the legislation and more. We look forward to the joint sitting of the two Parliaments for even more productive cooperation. We also assure you that we will continue to offer you all the necessary support in managing the flow of refugees, as only together will we be able to overcome this crisis ", he said.

The Romanian official pays a visit to Chisinau following the invitation of Grosu. The agenda of the visit also includes meetings with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.
