Moldova's Customs Service collects over 694.1 million lei in last week

Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service collected over 694.1 million lei (about 34.7 million euros) in the state budget during the last week, up by 15.94 per cent against the budgetary task established for this time interval.
According to the Customs Service, private people introduced goods, the value of which exceeds the non-taxable limit, with payments worth more than 15.9 million lei collected, which accounts for 2.3 per cent of the overall sum collected for the concerned period.
The money collected by tax payers is transferred directly to the state budget and is redistributed for salaries, developing infrastructure, social projects, etc.
More than 10,000 customs declarations were processed last week and the flow of transport means stood at about 87,000 crossings.
As for combating frauds, decision-makers ascertained 55 infringements of the customs legislation and imposed fines worth more than 270,000 lei.
Since early 2022, the Customs Service has collected 13 billion lei to the state budget, with a 23.6–per cent increase recorded against the same period of the year before.
