Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu on 6 June discussed with the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for Moldova, Pierre-Alain Fridez and Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, the parliament’s agenda of reforms. The speaker said that, no matter the crisis through which Moldova went, the reforms’ agenda remained unchanged, the parliament’s communication and public relations has reported.

”The fight against corruption and the justice reform represent the zero priority and the first steps are already made and namely the ‘’pre-vetting’’ and the reform of the prosecutor’s office. We would like the things to more with a higher speed; yet, at the same time, we want everything to be according to the law,’’ the parliament speaker said.

The discussions referred also to the legislative measures adopted by the parliament for preventing and combating the misinformation. Another subject tackled at the discussion was the energy crisis. Speaker Igor Grosu stressed that Moldova knew how necessary the reforms in the energy sector were. He noted that, besides the identification of projects on the diversification of the energy sources and enhancing the generation capacities, the parliament had adopted a string of legislative amendments, for the gas suppliers to be obliged to have natural gas stocks for at least two months of winter.

The officials exchanged opinions also on the exemplary way the authorities and the citizens of Moldova had fully got involved, during more than 100 days, in the management of the refugees’ crisis and diminishing the social and economic consequences of the war in Ukraine.
