Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meetings with representatives of French companies in Paris

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, during his visit to Paris, has had meetings with representatives of French private companies, in the context of prioritizing the economic diplomacy on the agenda of the foreign policy and in order to get concrete results for the Moldovan citizens, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.    

Following the authorities’ efforts to attract new investments, the Moldovan diplomacy head, Nicu Popescu, welcomed a decision by the Qair company, which following a visit to Chisinau in last April will develop a project of about 100 MW in the renewable energy sector.    

At the same time, the official agreed on the speeding up of the project on renovation of the Chisinau-Ungheni railway segment by a consortium led by the Alstom Company. The works are to start till the end of this year, which will allow significantly increasing the speed of movement.   

Also, Minister Nicu Popescu and a representative of the Airbus Company discussed possibility to initiate concrete projects in the near future.  

„The soon signing of the convention on the avoidance of the double taxation, expected by the business environment, will allow developing new investment projects, creating new jobs, transfer of technologies and developing priority sectors of our economy, hit by the regional security situation,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
