Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - Forty three migrants and their first-degree relatives will receive from the state up to 250,000 lei for starting/developing a business in Moldova. Managers of companies today signed contracts on non-refundable financing with the Organization for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM).

The overall sum of the grants is of about 11 million lei (more than half a million euros) and the volume of investments in the economy will amount to about 30 million lei. Thus, according to the prospects included in investment projects, those 43 companies will employ 136 people, of whom 55 young people and 42 women. Eighty four companies were selected for financing in the first six months of this year.

ODIMM acting director Dumitru Pintea reaffirmed the institution’s commitment as to backing all people with entrepreneurial spirit, in order to start or develop businesses, including workers from the Diaspora.

“The businesses supported by ODIMM re-bring migrants home, reintegrate families and create new jobs. Presently, we continuously receive applications on registration and national investment projects at the Programme on Attraction of Remittances PARE 1+1, in order to attract the Diaspora to return to Moldova and invest in the national economy,’’ Pintea said.

The Programme on Attraction of Remittances PARE 1+1 has been implemented by the Organization for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development since 2010 and its goal is to mobilize human and financial resources of Moldovans who work abroad for the sustainable development of Moldova. The programme works in the algorithm 1+1, so that each Moldovan leu invested from remittances is supplied by one leu as grant. The sum of the grant is worth up to 250,000 lei. Beneficiaries of grants can be citizens of Moldova who work abroad and beneficiaries of remittances first-degree relatives.
