People with disabilities to have facilitated access to cultural objects, events in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today backed, in two readings, a legislative initiative on facilitating the access of people with disabilities to cultural objects and events. At the same time, the document sees an increase in compensations at the transport services for this category of people.  

Under the document, the state will partially subsidize the public associations, Association of Blind People of Moldova and the Republican Community Centre of Deaf People from Moldova, given the facilitation of the access to cultural objects and events. 

As much as 2.4 million lei (120,000 euros) is necessary to financially cover these measures. The money will be used for involving disabled people in the process of organization and participation in cultural activities and measures.

At the same time, under the draft, 19.9 million lei is to be meant for increasing the compensations for the services of transport of the people with disabilities from Moldova’s districts and Balti municipality to the level of compensation from which the Chisinau residents benefit.
