First joint meeting of Parliaments of Moldova, Romania to be held in Chisinau

Chisinau, June 17 / MOLDPRES /- Moldova will host the first joint meeting of parliaments of Chisinau and Bucharest on Saturday.
According to the parliament's press service, MPs and President Maia Sandu were invited on behalf of Moldova to the meeting. Romania will be represented at the event by the delegations of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, led by heads Florin-Vasile Cîțu and Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
"The joint sitting of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania is taking place for the first time in Chisinau and is a strong message in support of our European integration efforts, but also a message on what we can do together to increase cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, energy, investments, health, education or culture ", speaker Igor Grosu said.
The agenda of the event will start at 09.25 with laying flowers by Florin-Vasile Cîțu and Ion-Marcel Ciolacu at Stefan cel Mare monument.
The joint meeting will begin with the protocol ceremony, followed by speeches by officials of Chisinau and Bucharest. A joint statement is to be signed at the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the heads will hold a press conference.
The joint meeting of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will take place at the Palace of the Republic starting at 10.00.
