Germany to support North Development Region in context of crisis situation

Chisinau, 7 July /MOLDPRES/ - The North Development Region will benefit from support as response to the crisis situation. The support will be provided within a soft project backed by the government of Germany and implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), which signed an agreement to this end, ADR Nord said on 6 July.
„Through this soft project, we are set to develop the capacities of the North Development Region, of the Regional Council for Development (CRD) and respectively, of ADR Nord, in the planning, adaptation and coordination of actions in case of crisis and emergency situations in the region, in order to provide immediate assistance to people hit by the crisis, which is to plan the prevention and reducing the impact of the crises in their communities from the perspective of the regional and local development,’’ the director of ADR Nord, Maria Prisacari, said.
Among the most important activities planned, there are: the working out of a study on the intelligent specialization in the context of the emergency crisis; carrying out the exchange of good practices in Romania as to the crises’ management; ensuring the functionality of CRD Nord, through purchasing of equipment; improving the present infrastructure for crises’ management, through buying assets; organization of two workshops on communication in crisis situation.
The project on support of the North Development Region as response to crisis situations is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova (MSPL). The MSPL project is financed by BMZ and implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Moldova, in partnership with the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry of Moldova.
