Moldovan Competition Council sanctions Avia Invest enterprise

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Avia Invest Ltd Company was fined by the Competition Council with about 17.48 million lei (about 900,000 euros) for the indirect taking over of control over the enterprise Aeroport Handling Ltd, without the Council’s notification.

Within the investigation, the Competition Council analyzed the relations between the enterprises Avia Invest Ltd (the enterprises which has been managing the patrimonial complex of the Chisinau international Airport since 2013) and Aeroport Handling Ltd (which provides soil handling services at the Chisinau International Airport).

„Decision-makers found out the fact that an operation of economic concentration had taken place between the concerned enterprises, which was not notified to the Competition Council and which consisted in the taking over of the indirect control by Avia Invest Ltd over the enterprise Aeroport Handling Ltd. This took place in more stages and started in May 2014,’’ the Competition Council.

Therefore, the Avia Invest Ltd company was sanctioned for failure to notify the economic concentration operation; as a result, this negatively hit the competition environment, the Competition Council added.
