Moldovan president, representatives of Foreign Investors Association discuss situation of business environment

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 25 July met a group of members of the Foreign Investors Association (FIA) in Moldova. The investors’ representatives and the head of state discussed the problems faced by investors in developing businesses, the presidential press service has reported.    

Among the problems tacked, there were the energy crisis; drought which hit most production sectors and the food security; inflation and problems in the banking sector, as well as the fair access to justice for the business’ representatives. In the context, President Maia Sandu said that the authorities were looking for solutions to help the local producers resist to the external challenges and maintain on market.   

President Maia Sandu appreciated the courage of foreign investors to remain in Moldova and work here, despite the difficulties. ‘’We appreciate the fact that you continue your work in Moldova, preserving jobs and contributing to the state budget. We hope that the war will end as soon as possible and we will get rid of more problems triggered by it. Meanwhile, we work to reform the justice and the control bodies. We know how important the justice is for developing business,’’ the head of state said.

In the end, President Maia Sandu urged FIA representatives to contribute, through their experience, to the process of Moldova’s European integration. ‘’It is necessary that we make a joint front, in order to explain and promote the advantages of the European integration and to carry out the steps due to ensure the capacity of EU member state,’’ Maia Sandu added.
