Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry elects leadership for next five years

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The participants in the fifth extraordinary Congress of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), held today, unanimously re-elected Sergiu Harea as CCI president and Mihai Bilba and Natalia Calenic as deputy presidents of the Chamber.     

The participants in the Congress presented the activity report for the period 2017-2022 and approved the principal directions of work for the next five years. They also elected the structures, such as the Chamber’s Council and the Commission of Censors.  

In the report unveiled, CCI president Sergiu Harea said that, on the period 2017-2022, despite the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as by the armed conflict at Moldova’s borders, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry had been with its members to provide them support. On this period, 192 companies became CCI members and most services were digitalized.    

Harea referred to the importance of the public-private dialogue and cooperation with the foreign partners, which favour the promotion of the Moldovan business environment. ‘’In the conditions caused by the pandemic, war, drought, etc., the involvement of the authorities, and not only of them, is badly necessary, in order to diversify the business support services,’’ the CCI president said.     

The participants in the meeting approved the principal directions of activity for the next five years, which include: optimization of the dialogue with the state’s institutions; promotion of the native products on the domestic and international markets; training of human resources for the economic sector; promotion and implementation of efficient system of training and qualification of staff and the dual education; digitalization of CCI’s services, etc.    

CCI is a non-governmental, autonomous and independent organization, set up based on the capacity of member, which represents the interests, on the whole, of the entrepreneurs from Moldova. The Chamber has 1,100 members at present.
