Barza Albă enterprise to get status of object of cultural, national heritage of Moldova

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Barza Albă enterprise, one of the biggest brandy producing companies from Moldova, will get the status of object of the country’s cultural and national heritage and will be included in the list of assets which cannot be privatized. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect in the last reading today.
Under the document, the Barza Albă stock company, the enterprise’s assets and the tasting halls were declared objects of the cultural and national heritage. Exception represents the production equipment and the maturing or deposited brandies. Also, the enterprise’s real estate will be included in the register of monuments protected by the state. The draft also sees the reestablishment of the exclusive right to use the trademark Barza Albă.
The history of the Barza Albă enterprises from the Balti city started in 1944. The company began working as a small unit for processing grapes at the outskirts of the city. Presently, the company has an advanced production potential and a representative portfolio of brandies with ages from 3 to 50 years. The enterprise’s products were awarded over 150 medals at numerous international exhibitions and contests of tasting, of which 80 golden ones, 10 Grand Prix, as well as the Star AWARD prize for special merits in the quality field.
Presently, there are two wine-making enterprises with status of Moldova’s cultural heritage – the Cricova Winery and the Milestii Mici State Enterprise Quality Wines Industrial Complex.
