Fiscal collections from lease of real estate record over 20-per cent increase in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) today informed that, in the first six months of this year, the collections from income tax from private people, who lease real estate, amounted to 18.9 million lei (about one million euros), up by 20.1 per cent against the same period of 2021.
According to the institution, following actions of voluntary compliance and informing, 3,048 people who lease/rent real estate were identified on the concerned period.
„The following payments were additionally calculated for payment to the budget for 284 private people who lease real estate and failed to comply with the legal provisions: basic payments worth 162.9 thousand lei, delay increase worth 11.4 thousand lei and fine was imposed amounting to 29.6 thousand lei. As many as 9,150 contracts on lease/rent were registered at the State Fiscal Service in the first half of this year in all,’’ SFS said.
In accordance with the Fiscal Code, the private people who do not carry out entrepreneurial activity and give in possession and/or in use real estate pay a tax worth 7 per cent of the contract’s monthly value. The contract on lease must be registered at the State Fiscal Service in a period of seven days after its conclusion. The tax is paid monthly on the date of 25 of the current month at the latest.
