Gas price in August to be around 1460 dollars for a thousand cubic meters

Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- In August, Moldovagaz will pay 1,458.5 dollars for every thousand cubic meters of natural gas bought from Gazprom, compared to 980 dollars, which was paid in July.

Moldovagaz director Vadim Ceban made the statment today. He said that the price was calculated according to the contract signed with the Russian concern.

According to the contract signed in October 2021, the price of natural gas purchased by Moldovagaz from Gazprom is calculated differently in winter and summer.

On 1 November -1 April when consumption is high, this price is determined 70% by the oil quotation on the international stock exchanges and 30% by the natural gas quotation on the spot markets.

On 1 April - 1 November the formula is reversed and is 30% of the price formed according to the oil quotation on the stock exchanges, and 70% - according to the natural gas quotation.
